Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have reconstituted their department-related parliamentary standing committees for the year. Most chairpersons from the previous term have been retained while a few new appointments have been made. Shashi Tharoor has been reappointed as chairperson of the external affairs committee. Charanjit Singh Channi will continue leading the agriculture panel after retaining his position. These committees focus on reviewing ministries' budgets, policies, and legislation throughout the year.
