Lockheed Martin has entered into an agreement to produce 850 F-35 Lightning II fighter jets over the next decade. The contract is not an order but a prearranged long-term arrangement with the Department of Defense. This agreement aims to stabilize annual production at 156 aircraft, while also covering international orders and spares. Lockheed anticipates that this deal will support hundreds of thousands of jobs in the US.
