The Greater Chennai Corporation has initiated a drive for managing firecracker waste during Deepavali. They have deployed 600 personnel and provided 30,000 collection bags for segregation. Residents are requested to separate firecracker waste from regular garbage and hand it over to workers. The civic body is enhancing cleaning efforts with mechanical sweepers and awareness campaigns across neighborhoods. Safety guidelines advise the use of approved green crackers to reduce pollution levels.
