A businessman in India lost Rs 5.85 lakh after opening a malicious APK file disguised as a wedding invitation. The victim opened the file received through WhatsApp, which compromised his smartphone without his awareness. Subsequently, unauthorized transactions began to occur from his bank account, leading to significant financial loss for him. Investigators are now looking into the circulation of malware through WhatsApp among victims.
