Denver Health was founded as City Hospital in 1860 to serve the health care needs of the rapidly developing city of Denver. Since then, it has grown alongside the community to become a complete health care system, proudly providing care for all residents -- at every point in their lives. Believing that healthy people are the foundation of a vibrant community, Denver Health has been treating and healing the people of Denver for more than 160 years.

In addition to serving patients at Denver Health, he is affiliated with Denver City Jail. He is also an active member of the American Nurses Association.

A Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse trained to provide a wide range of mental health services to patients and families in a variety of settings. PMHNPs diagnose conduct therapy and prescribe medications for patients who have psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders, or substance abuse problems. They are licensed to provide emergency psychiatric services, psychosocial and physical assessment of their patients, treatment plans, and manage patient care. They may also serve as consultants or as educators for families and staff.

On a more personal note, Richard attributes his success to always trying to help. Even if he can't fix everything, he always tries.
